Description
The story of Bruce Farr and Russell Bowler is one the greatest success stories to come out of Aotearoa New Zealand. Its beginnings were humble enough – supportive parents of modest means encouraging their sons. Yet an abundance of wind and water and rich imagination would soon change that.
At age 20, Farr designed the world’s first light displacement keelboat to compete successfully within the racing rules of international competition. Where other designers had tweaked and modified, Farr started from scratch. His boats were to revolutionise boat design.
