Description
Captain ‘Black Sam’ Bellamy and his band of pirates terrorised the high seas, looting gold from more than fifty ships and loading it onto the Whydah, a captured slave ship, before losing one last furious battle with the elements and sinking off the coast of Cape Cod in the Great Storm of 1717.
Two centuries later, spellbound by his uncle’s tales of Bellamy, the English-sailor-turned-pirate-adventurer, and his flagship the Whydah – ‘the Black Ship’ – underwater explorer Barry Clifford resolved to salvage the sunken wreck and its plunder.
