Description

Explaining boatbuilding methods to first-timers, easy to understand and containing professional tips not always found in other boatbuilding literature. This book is a compilation of prior manuals by the author, for teaching the range of boatbuilding construction methods. Now combined in one volume, each of the four manuals covers a different method of constructing a boat.
These are:

  • Building a Traditional (lapstrake) Clinker Dinghy
  • Epoxy Strip Planking
  • Plywood Clinker Construction
  • Building the Whiting Skiff.

The intro includes choosing a design, choosing a building method, and mistakes to avoid. Also included is a carvel section, (no cold-molded section), a restoration section, and a “plans you can build” section.

The book is strong on explanation via photos and many sketches and drawings.
