Description
A Voyage to Rio in a Four-Masted Barque.
Fired up by the sight of two great Four -Masted Barques in the Harbour at Lubeck in 1951, Hilary Tunstal-Behrens enlisted as a member of crew and embarked on a trading voyage to South America. It was an astonishing crew of English and German cadets, refugee sailors from East Germany and a U Boat Commander trying to rediscover the foundations of a way of life.
An exciting voyage, a remarkable social adventure and a rediscovery of the ways of sail.
