Description
First published in 1998, with revisions to 2000, this book is probably the most recent authoritative text on conventional plywood boatbuilding; the author is recognised as an expert in this field. The title is a little restrictive in that the book does contain a great deal of material on general plywood construction and is not limited to clinker boatbuilding.
This book is a fully detailed study of the methods of building open boats of all types in glued lapstrake. It also contains much essential information for builders of boats of other materials. It has very detailed sections on design, tools, glues, finishing, construction techniques and rigging.
There are very many excellent photographs and line drawings. For anyone seriously into the complete process of plywood boatbuilding this is a modern and complete textbook.
