Description
This book was first published in 1953. Since then many new Atlantic passages have been made in small craft, including those in the single-handed trans-Atlantic Race. Lively descriptions of these are added in this new edition which brings up to date the records of trans-Atlantic ship voyages
To seafaring men of whatever nationality who live and work on its coast the North Atlantic has from the earliest times been a lure and a challenge. This book brings to light the stories of over 100 voyages made, with a few notable exceptions, in vessels not exceeding 30ft in length, ranging from rafts and open boats to small modern cruising yachts.
