Description

This is not just another Rules of the Road book, this one is designed to teach Royal Navy and Merchant Navy personnel sufficient theoretical knowledge of the Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea to meet the needs of the Officer of the Watch.
The programme is written so that everything is seen, or heard, from the point of view of the Officer of the Watch of a power-driven vessel or in Chapter 6, the helmsman of a sailing vessel. It is written as a self-learning programme. On each page the information given is followed by a question which requires an answer. The correct answer is given on the next page. At the end of each chapter there is a test covering the material taught. The correct answers are given immediately after each test with the page references for any questions wrongly answered.
This is by far the most comprehensive book we have on learning the rules of the road, and is suitable for those doing Day Skipper, Boatmaster, Yachtmaster, Deck Officers, Fishing, and Launch Master certificates. This book is officially approved for use in the Royal Navy as a self-teaching book.
The International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea are in a seperate section at the back of the book.
