Description

Published shortly before the outbreak of WWII, in which the company was to lose many ships, to record the history of the NZSCo from 1873 to 1939 it also covers the associated Federal Steam Navigation Co. As the name suggests the company was closely connected with the NZ trade, in terms of both cargo and passengers and the evolution of these ties are thoroughly examined. A feature of the book is the eight excellent collotype plates, art and photo, showing vessels from clippers to motor ships. 110 pages, concluding with two fleet lists.
