Description

These stories form part of a diary that Zane Grey kept during his second visit to New Zealand in 1927. In them he describes two trips: one to the Bay of Islands for deep-sea fishing, and the other to the Tongariro River for its plentiful supply of trout. The author concentrates on conveying the atmosphere of these fishing expeditions – the excitements, disappointments, and triumphs of the sport; the emotions generated by the wild New Zealand scenery; the camaraderie amongst his fishing companions.
